—INDONESIAN HERO {CUT NYAK DIEN} πŸ“„

Hi, welcome back to my blog! on the previous blog I have explained the recount text, this time I will discuss the recount text again, with the topic of Cut Nyak Dien biography.

Orientation
Cut Nyak Dien was born in 1848 in the Kingdom of Aceh. Cut Nyak Dien has a line of descent which is recorded as numbering religious orders. He was born into a noble family line. Her father is named Teuku Nanta Setia, her mother is Putri Uleebalang Lampagar. Her husband Ibrahim Lamnaga has died and from her marriage to Ibrahim she was blessed with a son, then she married Teuku Umar and was blessed with a child who was named Cut Gambang.
Subsequently, however, the Dutch began launching another attack in 1874-1880. The Dutch colonialists also controlled the Sultanate of Aceh Palace in 1874. This left the Acehnese people no longer having a safe place to live in. The people of Aceh finally chose to evacuate, including mothers and children, Cut Nyak Dien was also part of the group of refugees. Meanwhile, her husband and other men fought against the Dutch colonialists in order to restore the Aceh Sultanate by seizing the VI mukim area.

Events
Cut Nyak Dien received education in the field of religion and life skills well from his parents and teachers. He also received qualified teaching from his teachers.
The Dutch first launched an attack on Aceh on March 26, 1873. The Dutch immediately burned the Baiturrahman Mosque. Cut Nyak Dien saw it and did not remain silent. It immediately aroused a sense of the struggle of the Acehnese people. At that time, the Aceh Sultanate was able to repel the Dutch colonialists. The Aceh Sultanate won the first battle, Cut Nyak Dien's husband who was fighting in the front row came home with a smile.
In this battle Ibrahim Lamnaga, Cut Nyak Dien's husband died on June 29, 1875. This is the point where Cut Nyak Dien took a pledge not to stop fighting for Aceh and destroying the Netherlands.
In the records of Cut Nyak Dien's life journey, he married a second time to a very respected Acehnese struggle figure named Teuku Umar. They married in 1880. This marriage was welcomed by the people of Aceh and increased the enthusiasm for the struggle of the Acehnese people against the Dutch colonialists. From his marriage to Teuku Umar, Cut Nyak Dien was blessed with a child who was named Cut Gambang.
The struggle continued using guerrilla war tactics. The initial step taken by Teuku Umar was to approach the Netherlands and build a strong relationship between the two, all in order to gain Dutch trust. And everything reached its peak when Teuku Umar and his 250 troops "surrendered" to the Dutch and admitted that they wanted to join the Netherlands. This was done on September 30, 1893. The Dutch, who certainly strongly agreed with the steps taken by Teuku Umar, immediately awarded the title Teuku Umar Johan Pahlawan. And gave full power to Teuku Umar to become a unit commander of the Dutch troops.
However, the strategy taken by Teuku Umar and Cut Nyak Dien was not without contradiction. Many Acehnese think that they have betrayed Aceh. While continuing to study the war tactics used by the Dutch, Teuku Umar planned to attack Aceh. When the plan to attack the Aceh base was approved by the Dutch, Teuku Umar and Cut Nyak Dien along with troops and war equipment in the form of heavy weapons, complete with ammunition, went to Aceh. However, they never returned to the Netherlands. Teuku Umar's betrayal to the Dutch was known as Het Verraad van Teukoe Oemar or Teuku Umar's betrayal.
The Dutch were very angry with this incident. They went berserk and launched a large-scale operation to arrest Teuku Umar and Cut Nyak Dien. Meanwhile, the Dutch troops were now led by General Jakobus Ludovicius. With complete equipment, Teuku Umar managed to destroy the Dutch troops. General Jakobus was killed.
The Dutch are still looking for ways to paralyze Aceh's strength. They paid people to keep spying on Teuku Umar to get what plans Teuku Umar would take. So it was known that Teuku Umar would attack the Netherlands on February 11, 1899. Because his plan was known, Teuku Umar died in the war. Although sad, Cut Nyak Dien remained strong and continued to launch attacks on the Dutch in the interior of Meulaboh together with his troops.
With an aging age, Cut Nyak Dien continues to fight against the Dutch. However, however, the Dutch were stronger because they were supported by complete strength. Finally, one of his troops reported the whereabouts of Cut Nyak Dien to the Dutch. The Dutch came scattering to attack the Cut Nyak Dien place in Beutong Le Sageu. They fought tooth and nail even though in the end Cut Nyak Dien was caught by the Dutch.
For all his great services in the struggle against the Dutch, the Soekarno government awarded him as a National Hero of Indonesia through Presidential Decree No.106 of 1964 to be precise on May 2, 1964. The title of hero itself was based on the submission of the then Governor of Aceh, Ali Hasan.

Reorientation
Cut Nyak Dien was finally brought to Banda Aceh and treated there. However, the Dutch feared that the presence of Cut Nyak Dien in Banda Aceh would revive the spirit of resistance for the Acehnese. The Dutch finally decided to send Cut Nyak Dien and exiled to Sumedang-West Java. Due to his age, Cut Nyak Dien died in Sumedang on November 6, 1908. However, in 1959 his grave was only discovered.
